The term Information society

The impact of the information society Society is now driven by the need to communicate information and knowledge using various technologies. This is formerly known as the information revolution (Feather, 1998,p 7). This has far-reaching implications because it not only changes society, but the work and social context of that society. Video conferencing is one medium which facials can take advantage of. Agents across the world could hold one-to-one or one to many meetings in the procurement of criminals, images scanned into the system could be viewed simultaneously by both parties.

The facials contribution The facials project has had a profound effect on society, it is envisaged that the project will build up a large database of criminals throughout the world. The database will consist of a profile of each individual and associated attributes. This information could be sheered with not just law enforcement agencies but airports and train stations around the world. These agencies could gain access to criminal profiles by linking the system to the Internet and downloading the relevant information.

This project would help law enforcement agencies and governments to reduce crime and keep track of suspected criminals, in a world where crime is on the rise. This would also be an economic and efficient way to distribute information. Due to nature of the system and information being stored in a database, information could you requested and received consecutively thus allowing for more efficient and effective organisation. This kind of system will not be without its problems Civil Liberties groups would champagne for the anonymity of the innocent, because undoubtedly their images would also be captured and be mistaken for criminals.
